Electricity is connected to units via a switch box in the garage. Several owners have upgraded switch boxes and added additional circuits. Owners may wish to identify which cut-out switch relates to each electrical circuit in the unit.
Electricity meters for individual units are in a locked cabinet at the side of the garbage shed. Keys for this cabinet are held by a member of the executive committee.
A question that is sometimes asked is whether 3-phase power could be connected to homes. The response to this from electrical contractors is that the cost would be prohibitive, possibly up to $100,000, depending on where a Villa is located in relation to the meter boxes.
Solar installations and house batteries are compatible with the single phase setup.
