Occasionally you may need to turn off the water to your unit, which will mean locating the stop cock (or stop valve) which will be located in your front garden, quite likely very near to your house. You can see a map (below) which indicates the locations that have been identified at each Unit. It will be a metal lid about 10 centimetres square, and the tap may be up to 20 centimetres below ground. In some cases some soil may have fallen down the hole, obscuring the tap. There should be a tool in the bin-room that will enable you to turn the tap without having to put your hand down the hole.
